Little Friends

Little Friends Preschool

A Ministry of St. Paul United Church of Christ

Little Friends is an early childhood education center for children three to five years old.  It meets 9:00 - 11:30 am, Tuesday through Thursday.  It is sponsored by St. Paul's Board of Christian Education.  While religious doctrine is not explicitly taught, the classes are taught within the context of the Christian community.  The school maintains the standards set by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and is a state-licensed community service.

Little Friend's goal is to provide a variety of projects and experiences that create a stimulating learning environment for each child.  The curriculum includes stories, songs, games, dances, shapes, colors, sizes, plants, animals and seasons, organized activities and closely supervised free play.   Field trips, visual aids, cooking, special visitors and other activities to engage preschoolers are incorporated into the program.

One of our parents placed the following notice in the Independent:

This is my son's second year at Little Friends Preschool at St. Paul UCC and he loves it.  The Tues, Wed, Thurs from 9-11:30 schedule is just perfect for us - it gives him just enough time to socialize and learn with his friends, but still allows us to have time in the afternoons together.

The Staff is very nice, and the program is small enough that they get to know the kids very well as individuals.

I look forward to taking my youngest son to Little Friends next year.
